Optically Accessible Engines
Mid-Michgan Research has a full line of optically accessible engines available and will custom design and fabricate one for your needs. Custom design and fabrication means you decide on the bore, stroke and connecting rod, ensuring the piston kinematics are correct for the engine being studied. An optional rotating engine cradle allows the cylinder to be orientated in the same plane as in a 60° or 90° V-engine. Our unique design utilizes production cylinder heads, eliminating the need for costly, single cylinder research heads to be built. Our optical engines are also compatible with heads from pushrod engines.
